VIN DE PAYS DE VAUCLUSE red 2009
TASTING NOTES: Cranberry nose with a touch smoky; full in the mouth but round, very soft & juicy mouth feel. This wine is unbelievably ready to drink!
SOIL : Clayey and chalky : 2 different parcels on the village of Violès.
VINEYARD : Less than 3 hectares with vines of 25 years on average.
GRAPE VARIETIES : Caladoc 30 %, carignan 20 %, grenache 20 %, marselan 20 % and syrah 10 %.
WINE HARVEST : Hand-made with selective picking of the grapes for the carignan, the grenache and the marselan. Mechanical after strict disbudding for the caladoc, as well as thinning out of leaves and green harvest for the syrah.
VINIFICATION : De-stemming followed by a slight crushing of the berries.
Traditional vinification in enamelled concrete tanks, 6 days maceration, monitoring of temperatures with cold generator and automatic regulation cupboard.
MATURING : In enamelled concrete or steel tanks.
STORAGE : Should be drunk between now and 2012.
