Brandabout organised trip to Chile – October 2008 – Alain Bras

Myself and two other candidates from Ireland were lucky enough to be chosen for this prestigious marketing trip to visit as many Chilean vineyards and wine producers as possible over a 2 week period.

I found the visit to Chile extremely enlightening and it showed me that Chile produces much finer wines than the Valley Table “entry” wines some wine merchants only care to import. Chilean producers show real care and hard work with their vineyard management team and their wine-makers free hand reflects quality and character of their terrior in a European way.

Big thanks to Brandabout for packing in so many visits, covering such a large landscape in so few but most enjoyable and educational days. I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity.
